Someone said failure
is not an option but those who succeed are the ones who had failed not only
once but a thousand times like Thomas Alva Edison. He had beautifully said
that, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10, 000 ways that won’t work”.
In
reality, only those who had failed will appreciate the sweetness of their
success. We should not be afraid of failure or making mistakes as long as we
learn how to overcome them and not repeating the same mistakes again. Life is a
learning process and don't be afraid to explore new things as what we used to
do when we were a child.
As Theodore Roosevelt was quoted as saying, “it is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have
tried to succeed.”
We respect our elders
for their experience, knowledge, skills and wisdom. On the other hand, we love
our juniors for their courage, energy, enthusiasm and passion.
Don't be afraid to
make a change no matter how small it can be and don't wait until changes change
us and the way we live our lives in future. Change needs time and should be
done gradually rather than immediately. Change requires a lot of effort and
sacrifices but the fruit of our labour is how the things surrounding us change
when we change ourselves. Ultimately, it is up to us to choose whether to
change or not. If we decide to remain indecisive it is also a choice by itself
and we must be accountable for whatever choice we make.
It doesn't really
matter how small or big our contributions are. Most importantly, we stay united
and helping each other based on love, dignity, mutual respect, trust and
understanding among each other. No one should be treated differently and no one
should be sidelined regardless of race, creed and gender. No matter who we are
and what we have, we really need each other very badly now more than ever to
overcome the obstacles ahead in rebuilding our beloved country. No one should
feel so proud and arrogant of what they have achieved as an individual but
should continue to strive for an excellence by continuing learning and sharing
our expertise among us, as well as the community at large towards the betterment
of our lives in our beloved country.
John F. Kennedy, a
former President of the United States of America was rightly pointed out in his famous quote, “ask not what
your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country”. After all
the knowledge or whatever expertise that we have is just like bubbles in an
ocean when compared to our Creator as Allah mentioned it in the Holy Quran, (Surah-Luqman, Chapter 31: verse 27), “If all the trees on earth become pens, and the
sea replenished by seven more seas were to supply them with ink, the Words of
Allah would not be exhausted. Verily Allah is Most Mighty, Most Wise”.
Finally, let us look
at these quotes of wisdom regarding knowledge and life,
“Knowledge without
intelligence is like having shoes with no feet and intelligence without
knowledge is like having feet with no shoes.” - Sayyidina Ali Ibnu Abi Talib
r.a.
“If you don't stand
up for something, you'll fall for anything.” - Malcolm X.
“The world is three
days: As for yesterday, it has vanished along with all that was in it. As for
tomorrow, you may never see it. As for today, it is yours, so work on it.” -
Hassan Al-Basri.
